ND. (NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals boys basketball team improve to 5-0 in District 5 with a 71-51 victory over the Rebels of Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier last night at Carrington High School.  The Cards are now 12-4 overall, the Rebels drop to 2-4 in District 5 and 7-10 overall.  

Carrington had just a two point lead at halftime 32-30, they would come out in the third quarter with a full court press and score 17 points unanswered and take a 53-37 lead going into the fourth quarter.  Four players were in double figures for Carrington, leading the way was Senior Seth Abaurrea with 19 points, followed by Senior Brady Smith with 18, Junior Connor Wendel had 13 and Junior Shae Mehring with 10.  Junior Connor Entzi had 24 points for the Rebels.

Next up for Carrington will be Monday, Feb. 16th at District 5 Oakes for a makeup game from the 10th.  The contest can be heard on AM 1600 and 1220 and newsdakota.com about 6:45pm pregame.
