CITY, N.D. – A helping hand that stretches hundreds of miles all for a three-year-old Minnesota girl.

The community of Valley City is raising cash for Claire Wurgler of Crystal, Minnesota who has Spina Bifida, a debilitating physical condition.

Claire’s aunt Karolee Ondracek says it’s amazing how big the hearts are in this community.
Her parents Chad and Becca Wurgler, both work full-time. Nurses care for Claire 20 hours a day in her room.

Ondracek says Claire’s bedroom is in the living room. She says the hard part is they are still trying to work and financially they just can’t afford to get a different home.

Local fundraising organizer Sue Lloyd says “Claire deserves to be like any other child, to have her own room.” Her family is looking to build a new home to accommodate Claire’s physical needs.

Fans and players at the Valley City High School basketball game last night raised $3,500 for Clarie on top of the $14,000 raised over the last two months.
