CITY, N.D. – Think heart healthy, set a personal exercise goal, think eating nutritious foods and think about your heart!
February 6 was the American Heart Association “Wear Red”day. The reason for the day is to call attention to the fact that heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States, and in many cases, it is premature.
Sharon Buhr, chairperson for Barnes ON THE MOVE Partnership and dietitian at Mercy Hospital says we hope that 1000 people in Barnes County will contact us with their exercise goal to have the healthiest county in North Dakota.
ON THE MOVE wants to help people take a look at how much exercise they are doing, and work up to 150 minutes a day.
After you have set your personal physical activity goal, then tell us at ON THE MOVE what it is by calling us at 845-6456 or go to www.barnesonthemove.org and sign in with your exercise goal. You can do it free or if you’d like to join in and attend any of the ON THE MOVE classes (or get any of the incentive gifts) then sign in as a paid member for $12.
For more information about heart health or ON THE MOVE, call 845-6456.
Mercy employees and visitors pictured above have all set their own personal physical activity and are committed to helping their hearts be healthy. To set your personal activity goal, go to www.barnesonthemove.org, and sign up either free or for $12.
