CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State’s Sadiqah Jihad has been awarded the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors.

The Minneapolis native knocked down 12 points will passing out six assists in Wednesday’s 86-67 win over Mayville State. She followed up that game on Saturday with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in the Vikings 72-65 victory over #11 Jamestown.

On the week Jihad averaged just over 15 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals a game. She was 66% from the field while shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the arc and converting on 12-of-16 free-throw attempts.

The Vikings now hold a 5-1 record in the North Star. They are currently tied for first place with the University of Jamestown. VCSU is back on the court on Wednesday night at 6:30pm when they travel to Dickinson State. The game can be heard on 1490 KOVC with the men’s game to follow.
