CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) — Dacotah Bank in Valley City has made recent employment changes. Tara Opatz has been promoted to teller supervisor and will start her new position in March. The bank’s new credit analyst is Liz Nelson. Valley City State University student Shane Ost started as a banking intern earlier this month.
Opatz’s new supervisor position carries responsibility for staff compliance with regulation, policy and procedures, assuring exceptional customer service, guidance on complex customer transactions and training new staff members in the department. She has 11 years of financial experience and has been with Dacotah Bank since 2006. She has experience with deposit and retail services, as well as lending services. Opatz and her husband Steve have three children – Candy, Kiersten and Cameron.
In her new position, Nelson will analyze financial data and assist with loan portfolio management. She is a VCSU graduate with degrees in business administration and office management. Nelson has been with the bank for nine years. She is the daughter of Dick and Bernie Nelson of Valley City.
Ost has been with the bank as an intern since early January. The internship will run through September. It includes training and work experience to gain an overall understanding of banking. Ost is a senior at VCSU, majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance. He plans to graduate in May of this year. Ost is a Valley City native and the son of Tim and Nancy Ost.
