CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals has a new website and a new logo. The logo was created by Kayla of Sorby Design. The new website is www.svfanimals.org.

SVFA spokesman Pam Erickson says its membership renewal time. She says the all-volunteer organization’s money from donations, memorials, and membership fees go directly to the animals.

Their next membership meeting is Tuesday, February 10th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 7:00pm

Also the Spaghetti Feed and Silent Auction will be held April 4th at the Eagles Club in Valley City.

Erickson says there has been quite a bit of talk about the new city ordinances regarding animals.  Some people have misunderstood SVFA’s efforts in this process.  Our request was a simple one – for the city to develop a set of ordinances that would be in the best interest of pets, primarily the humane treatment of dogs, cats, and horses. If you have questions regarding the ordinances, direct those to the City. However, one reminder for the public of is that cats and dogs need licenses under the ordinance. Just grab your rabies certificate and head over to the Valley City Police Department to get certified.

And finally there’s a new program called Atti’s Eats Pet Food and Supplies Pantry. Check out their website:  www.attiseats.com  It’s a program that’s available to anyone in North Dakota.  If you know of someone having trouble feeding their pets, you can contact them for assistance.

SVFA is also always willing to try to help out when we can.  Sometimes a bag of food can mean the difference between an animal being surrendered and being able to stay with it’s family.
