LeGrand, age 94, of Valley City, ND died Thursday, February 5th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 14th at the First Church of the Nazarene in Valley City.  Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  Burial will be in the Nidaros Lutheran Church Cemetery, Clitheral, MN.

Eunice Irene Olson, the daughter of Magnus “Max” and Louise (Nelson) Olson, was born January 16, 1921 in Rugby, ND.  The family later moved to Audubon, MN and later Detroit Lakes, MN where her father became sheriff of Becker County.  Eunice graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1939 and then attended Detroit Lakes School of Business.  Eunice married Odis LeGrand on January 22, 1942 in Detroit Lakes.  During and after her husband’s service in World War II, they made several moves before settling in Fergus Falls, MN.  While in Fergus Falls, Eunice spent 30 years as a stenographer/bookkeeper for the City Water and Light Department.  Eunice was very active in bowling leagues in Fergus Falls and she participated in several state and national bowling tournaments.  Eunice also loved the game of bridge and the ladies in her bridge club.  She also enjoyed many car rides with Odis to games he broadcasted.  After their retirement, Eunice and Odis moved to their lake home on Battle Lake, a place that brought her great joy.  Eunice and Odis shared 72 joy-filled years of marriage.

Eunice is survived by her son Steve (Terry) LeGrand, Valley City, ND; one brother, Vernon (Jo) Olson, Fergus Falls, MN; two granddaughters, Jenifer (Todd) Reiter, Maple Grove, MN and Stefani LeGrand, Fargo, ND; three step-grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; five step-great-grandchildren.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Larry Olson and Maurice “Mo” Olson; and three sisters, Dorothy Langager, LaVerne Lodin and Vivian Wright.
