The Oaks high school boys basketball team started with a 19-0 lead and never look back in a 79-34 victory at home Friday night against Midkota/Kensel in Class B District 5 play.
The Tornadoes (10-4 3-2 District 5) had a 21-4 lead after the first eight minutes while the Mustangs didn’t eclipse the 20 point mark until late in the third quarter. Brody Bartholomew had a season high 17 points for Oakes, 14 of those in the first half. Tristan Meyer netted 16 points; also a season high.
Midkota/Kensel (o-16 0-4 District 5) did not score their first points until 2:40 left in the first quarter. Joseph Vollmer lead the way with 12 points.
