N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The driver of a cattle hauler who lost some cattle in an accident last Friday has been identified.
28 year-old Ross Van Kinkel of Inwood, Iowa was traveling on I-94 when he drifted into the left lane, over-corrected and tipped over on the driver’s side. Roughly 88 head of cattle were on board and 23 died in the accident. Van Kinkel was not wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
Officials spent the morning rounding up the cattle. The driver was cited for care required. The Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol responded.
