N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A family of four were displaced when a Saturday night fire destroyed a home near Spiritwood.

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called when a house became fully engulfed in flames. The owner of home, Rosemarie Jasmann, was not home when the fire broke out. The home was occupied by Charles Johnson, who found the fire on the second floor.

A partially collapsed chimney attached to a wood stove is believed to be the cause of the fire. Brian Shawn with the Red Cross announced that volunteers were on scene supporting 20 firefighters with food, water, and coffee. They also provided the displaced family with food, clothing, and winter gear.

The home was determined to be a total loss. No one was injured. Skyla Jasmann has shared a link for those who wish to help assist their family. Click here.
