(NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmie basketball teams were looking to stay unbeaten in North Star play and they were able to do just that. Jamestown welcomed in Dickinson State Wednesday night and picked up two wins. The Jimmie women held the Blue Hawks to just 18 second-half points en route to a 71-45 win.
The second game was much closer as the Jimmies needed overtime to finish off Dickinson State, 79-74, to win their 11th game in-a-row.

Dickinson state was within one as the game approached halftime, but Jamestown pushed the lead to nine with a run in the final minutes. The first half tells the story about how balanced and deep the Jimmies are with McKayla Orr, Taylor Hammer, and Jordan Bridges coming off the bench to score a combined 26 points.
Bridges of course was an All-NSAA first-team player last year, but has missed significant time with a knee injury and it starting to get back into the flow.
Jamestown defensively was very good, as they help the Blue Hawks to just 18 second-half points. The Jimmies were just 1-of-17 from beyond the arc, but had 38 free throw attempts.

Eleven ties and 10 lead changes and the game was tied after 20 minutes and 40 minutes. Brequan Tucker hit a 22-footer at the buzzer to send the game to halftime tied at 34. Tucker had a game-high 24.
Dickinson State trailed 69-66 with 35 seconds to go when they tied it with a three and gave the Jimmies the final shot in regulation. Coach Alan Magnani decided to let his team create a shot without a timeout and Taylor Newton got a good look from the top of the key. The ball bounced on the rim three times before falling away and sending the game to overtime.
In overtime, Jake Hagler hit a fall away jumper from the right corner to put Jamestown ahead 75-71 with their final field goal. The Jimmies had trouble from the free throw line in the final minutes and left the door open.
Leading 76-74, Curtis Redd got a chance to give the Hawks the lead in the final seconds with a wide open right corner three but it hit short. Tucker split the free throws and DSU had one more chance to tie. However, that shot was also no good and Sam Johnson closed the game with free throws.
Jamestown travels to Aberdeen on Saturday to battle Presentation College at 4pm/6pm. The game can be heard on 98.3 FM and NewsDakota.com.
