CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For the second time this season, the Valley City Hi-Liners were swept in a basketball double header by fourth ranked Fargo Davies. The Eagles girls team dominated the post against Valley for a 77-36 win. The Davies boys used defense and team work to derail the Hi-Liners with a 82-58 win.

The fourth ranked Eagles gave the ball to Alexis Klabo, who did what she does best, score. The Eastern Dakota Conference’s leading scorer posted a game high 34 points on the Hi-Liners. 

Hi-Liners were led by Sadie Klingenberg and Rebekah Peters who each tallied 8 points in the loss. Valley City falls to 6-7 on the year with a 5-7 record in the EDC. 

Boys: Valley City 58 Fargo Davies 82

The Hi-Liners hung with the fourth ranked Eagles at the start of the game trailing by just nine points at the half. In the second period of play, Davies’ Austin Schults took over the show posting a team high 18 points and forcing the Hi-Liners into a 24 point hole. 

Valley’s Jared Lents led all players in the game with 24 points, while Dalton Ondracek posted a season high 16 points in the loss. 

The Hi-Liners are now 2-10 overall and 1-10 in the EDC. Both the Hi-Liners boys and girls team’s are on the road at Grand Forks Central on Friday evening. The boys will open up play at 5;45pm with the girls to follow at the conclusion of that game. You can hear both games on 1490 KOVC.
