L. Kuhry, age 66, of Valley City, ND died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at his residence in Valley City under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 28 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Oriska, ND with Msgr. Dennis Skonseng, celebrant. A Prayer Service will be recited at 7 PM Tuesday evening, January 27 at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City with Deacon James McAllister officiating. Visitation will be 5PM until 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery at Oriska, ND later in the spring.
Mike was born July 25, 1948 in Valley City, ND the son of Maurice and Lillian Kuhry. He graduated from Fingal High School in 1966, then attended Valley City State University where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict from 1971-1973. After being honorably discharged, Mike farmed for over 30 years before retiring in 2007.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Lillian Kuhry, and by his brother Darrel Kuhry. Mike is survived by his siblings, Sharon (Robert) Knutson, Douglas Kuhry, Debra (Darwin) Yttredahl, Pat Kuhry, and by his son, Ryan Kuhry.
