CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Behind six pins, the Valley City Hi-Liner wrestling team defeated Grand Froks Red River 54-25  on Friday night at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

The Hi-Liners used a young roster in Friday’s event with nine wrestlers for Valley City in grades seven through nine. One of the night’s highlights featured 145 ponder Cole McGough. The Hi-Liners sophomore grappler pined Red Rivers Malek Larimer, one of the states top wrestlers in the weight class, using one of the Hi-Liners signature moves “The Diesel”.

Valley City picked up pins on the night from Parker Larson, Ryle Bjork, Jared Undem, Logan Erlandson, Cole McGough, and Jake Tange.

The Hi-Liners return to the mat tomorrow at Fargo South.
