CITY (NewsDakota.com) The field for the final day of the 2015 Barnes County Boys Basketball Tournament is now set after two days of games; the second of which was played out on Friday.

Milnor 79 Barnes County North 47

In the battle of the Bison, Milnor was able to outscore Barnes County North by a 30 point margin in the first half; 26-7 in the second quarter alone to pull away for the victory. Minor also made a strong 65.6 percent of their shots in the first half from the floor to help pick up the win. Drew Hansen and Quincey Marlatt each finished with 20 points for the victorious Bison who now stand at 2-6 this season.

BCN, still searching for their first victory with a mark now of 0-7 had a team high 20 points from Allen Contreas, and made 10 of 12 free throws.

Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 59 Sargent Central 46

The second game featured the closest game yet to be played in the tournament to that point. The score was tied three times in the second half, before the Spartans pulled away in the fourth quarter outscoring the Cadets 17-6 in the final eight minutes of regulation to earn their third victory of the year. Ethan Brown lead the way for the Spartans with 22 points, Sully Breckheimer finished with 15, and Parker Stein managed seven points to go along with a team high 10 rebounds to propel the team to a 3-5 mark.

Sargent Central is still winless at 0-7 on the season, and 20 points from Brook Bergh and 11 from Drew Wittich. 

LaMoure-Litchville-Marion 49 Maple Valley 46

After falling to Maple Valley just 11 days ago by a score of 52-49, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion would get their vengeance in the first semifinal of the Barnes County Tournament. This time it would be Loboes who earned the win by three points.

After geting out to an early 12-2 lead in the opening quarter,  the Loboes watched Maple Valley fight their way back into the game. Eventually the Raiders would tie the score at 31 when Jesse Johnson banked in a three pointer from the right heal in the fourth quarter. L-L-M broke the tie shortly after with a 6-0 run that the Raiders could not answer.

Drew Thielges led the Loboes in the win with 19 points, while Brady Warcken netted 15 more for the winning side.

In the loss, Caid Combs posted 16 points. Jesse Johnson and Dakota Steele each posted 10 points.

 

Enderlin 66  Griggs County Central 58

In the nights final game, Enderlin punched their ticket to the tournament’s championship with strong offense. 

Shooting 45 percent from the field, Enderlin made it hard fro Griggs County Central to come back from an early deficit.

Following his 32 point night in the tournament’s opener, Grahm Hurlburt was once again on his best game posting a game high 25 points for the Eagles.

With a solid outside game from Riley Nelson, who hit 4-of-7 three pointers and posted a team high 21 points, the Cougars kept the game close but never managed to tie Enderlin. 

The win is just the second of the season for Enderlin. The Eagles will play LaMoure-Litchville-Marion on Saturday for a chance at their first Barnes County Title since 2009.
