CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State University President Tisa Mason has been on the job less than a month but she’s excited about the record enrollment and good retention rates as she begins her tenure as the new president. She says the community support for Valley City State is fantastic referring to the more than million dollars raised for scholarships.
On open house for Mason will be held today in the Skoal room of the Student Center on the VCSU campus from 4pm to 6pm. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcome to attend.
President Mason comes to Valley City from Hays, Kansas where she served as vice president for student affairs at Fort Hays State University. She previously served as dean of student life at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisconsin and as executive director of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and Foundation in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She holds a Doctor of Education degree in higher education from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology/anthropology from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
