“Bill” Zinninger passed away on January 1, 2015 at the Sheyenne Care Center at Valley City, ND surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7 at the Sheyenne Care Center Chapel in Valley City.  Visitation will be from 5PM until 7PM Tuesday, January 6 at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home with a Prayer Service beginning at 7PM.  Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery at Valley City, ND.  Pallbearers will be Ron Burchill, Robert Burchill, Kathy Mosby, Mike Cordisco, and Ed Patterson.

William Zinninger was born in Foxholm, ND on July 2, 1920, the son of Ray and Mary Zinninger.  He grew up and attended school in Foxholm.  On January 10, 1951, he married the love of his life, Polly Wilkes.  Bill worked hard as a life-long farmer; he also worked at the Berthold Elevator for many years during the winter months.  Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with Polly.

After retiring from farming, Bill and Polly moved to the Parker Apartments in Minot, ND for six years.  In April 2009, they moved to Bridgeview Estates in Valley City to be closer to family.  Bill became a resident of the Sheyenne Care Center in November 2014.

Bill was a good, kind, and honest man with a gentle soul and a wonderful sense of humor.  He was loved by many and will be missed by all his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Chet and sister Thelma.

Bill is survived by Polly, his wife of 63 years, and many nieces and nephews.  Polly continues to reside at the Sheyenne Care Center at 979 North Central Ave. in Valley City.
