N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An incident in the Southwest part of Jamestown ended peacefully after officers were called to a home on Friday, January 2nd.
Emergency Services were called at around 1:30 P.M. Friday when a man, who was described as potentially intoxicated, spoke in an obnoxious manner, threatened suicide and claimed to have a weapon. The Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the Stutsman County Drug Task Force responded.
Officers reached the scene, where a 46 year-old man exited the house and saw law enforcement and immediately ran back into the house. Officials closed off parts of the street to traffic. Later, the man left the house and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly caught.
He was taken to the State Hospital for evaluation. The man’s name is being withheld at this time.
