“Hoss” Elton, age 69, of Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, December 23rd surrounded by his family at Ave Maria Village.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 29th at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour before the service on Monday morning at the funeral home chapel in Valley City.  Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Litchville, ND.

Larry Orvin Elton, the son of Orvin and Margaret (Holden) Elton, was born May 30, 1945 in Valley City, ND.  Larry grew up on the family farm near Litchville, ND and attended Svea School.  After receiving his education, Larry worked with his father on the family farm.  He later married Penny Kania and took over the family farming operation.  In 1988, he moved to Jamestown, ND were he began over the road trucking.  Larry then began driving for Altendorf Trucking where he was still driving until last year.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed his grandchildren who were the love of his life.  He enjoyed watching go cart racing and attended his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Larry is survived by his three sons, Robert (Melissa) Elton, William (Melanie) Elton and Larry O. Elton, Jr. all Jamestown, ND; one daughter, Jolene (Rob Aldrich) Elton, Bismarck, ND; six grandchildren, Blaize Elton, Averi Elton, Jocelyn Aldrich, Merek Elton, Cody Elton and Alexis Elton; three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Onah and Kaidon Elton; two sisters, Linda Ebel, Jamestown, ND and Barb (Denny) O’Neill, Williston, ND.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tina Marie, one son, DuWayne and two grandchildren, Kyia and Aiden Elton.
