(NewsDakota.com) – For the second consecutive year, Jamestown defeated Mandan in their home-opener with a 68-57 victory. After dropping their first two games of the season in non-conference affairs against Century and Bismarck High over the weekend, the Jays are 1-2.

Nick Fuchs had a rough shooting first half, but came up with 16 second-half points en route to a 21 point night. Jamestown trailed 13-2 in the early going, but quickly countered with a 15-4 run to tie the game at 17.

Jamestown was down 28-26 to start the second half, but opened the half on a 9-0 run and never trailed again.

The Jays will play at Minot on Tuesday at 7:30pm and the game will be heard on ESPN Jamestown.
