CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State University will host a listening session regarding the search for the next chancellor of the North Dakota University System on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center Skoal Room on the VCSU campus.

The State Board of Higher Education is beginning its search for the next chancellor of the North Dakota University System. Larry Skogen, has been serving as interim chancellor and will return to his position as president of Bismarck State College next summer. The chancellor position is expected to be filled by July 1, 2015.

State Board of Higher Education Chair Kirsten Diederich says it’s critical that we find the right person to lead our state’s university system. She says we want to hear what’s important to our stakeholders as we shape the profile and determine the desired attributes of the next chancellor. So in addition to our normal search process, we are adding listening meetings and an email address resource for those who cannot attend the meetings.

Those who cannot attend a listening session are asked to send ideas on the characteristics that are important for the next NDUS chancellor profile to Chancellor.search@ndus.edu.
