Block, 79, of Wishek, ND, formerly of LaMoure and Oakes, ND, passed away December 2, 2014, at the Wishek Hospital.

Robert, the oldest child of Norbert and Eleanor (Rasmusson) Block, was born June 1, 1935, at LaMoure, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended school.  After his schooling, he farmed both dairy and grain with his parents.  After his father’s death, Robert worked miscellaneous jobs around the area.  He later moved to Oakes.  In February of 2013, he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Oakes and after his mother’s death, he entered the Wishek Living Center.

He is survived by his brother, Neal (Shirley) Block, Oakes, ND; sister, Marlys (Eugene) Taszarek, Kulm, ND; and several nieces and nephews.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. with his funeral to follow at 10:00 A.M. at Zoar Lutheran Church, LaMoure.  Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery near Verona.  An on-line guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
