N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Sunday, December 7th, the University of Jamestown’s Wind Ensemble will present “Music: The Spice of Life.” The concert will feature pieces from around the world including Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean! There will also be a few Christmas pieces. The band will pay tribute to the Armed Forces with a special performance marking the 100-year anniversary of the start of WWI.
Band standards like “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” and “Amparito Roca” will be joined by newer pieces like “Malaguena” and “As One Listens to the Rain.” Like spices, the variety will be vast!
The concert will be at 2:00 pm in the Reiland Center’s DeNault Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. The Friends of the Fine Arts are providing a reception following the performance.
The University of Jamestown was established in 1883 and is ranked as a top regional school in both US News and World Report and The Princeton Review. The school features development of the whole person through its distinctive Journey to Success experience.
