Alma Albertson, 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by family November 29, 2014, at St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, N.D.
Alida was the daughter of Arthur and Alma (Schlecht) Janke. She was born March 17, 1933, near Fredonia, N.D. She attended rural school at Fredonia until 1946. The family then moved to LaMoure, N.D., where she attended high school. Alida was united in marriage to Lyle Albertson on October 12, 1950. The couple made LaMoure their home where they raised three sons. They purchased the Janke farm in 1974. Together they worked on the farm, and Alida did bookkeeping for their construction business.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the LWML. She had a wonderful sense of humor, always pulling pranks on Lyle, and always had a smile for everyone. She loved traveling and attending a jam session wherever she went. She loved listening to music by Pansy and Jerry Raatz and Norm and Sue Goehring. She enjoyed going for coffee uptown with her friends. Alida was the greatest grandmother and great-grandmother, never forgetting to send a birthday card.
Alida will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lyle; three sons, Gene (Sonya) Albertson, Grand Rapids, N.D., Lonnie (Bronwyn) Albertson, LaMoure, N.D., and Bruce (Vicki) Albertson, Hazen, N.D.; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myra Rada, Ellendale, N.D., Pansy (Jerry) Raatz, Rockaway, Oregon, and Joyce (Harvey) Wiemann, Webster, S.D.; two brothers, James (Marlys) Janke, Sun Lakes, Arizona, and Joel Janke, Kulm, N.D. Alida was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure. Her funeral will be Friday, December 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., also at Trinity Lutheran Church, LaMoure. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery near LaMoure.
