Ariz. (AP) – The pilot of a crop duster that went down in an open field near Somerton, Arizona and burst into flames has been identified.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says 55-year-old Michael Alan Kratz of LaMoure, North Dakota, died Sunday. Authorities said the small aircraft had no chemicals on board at the time and Kratz was alone.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
