R. Mogck, 88, of Lisbon, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, December 1, 2014 in Lisbon.
ElRoy was born on November 26, 1926 at Alfred, ND, the son of Ferdinand and Alice (Dewitt) Mogck. He attended school in Alfred and graduated from Gackle Public High School in 1943. ElRoy attended Business College in Jamestown and graduated in May 1944, then was employed by Midwest Motors in the accounting dept. He entered the US Army on January 16, 1945 and served during WWII. ElRoy was discharged on September 1, 1946 and returned to Jamestown where he was employed by Pred’s Store for Men. He married Wanda Kraft on September 10, 1947 in Oakes, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where ElRoy worked at Stutsman County Implement. He began his employment at R.M. Stoudt, Inc. on September 1, 1955 and worked there until his retirement on December 31, 1988. ElRoy enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show and the Gaither Gospel Hour.
ElRoy was a Charter Member of the Jamestown Choralaires, member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks, and Lifetime Member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mogck; daughters, Cheryll (Dennis) Bivins and Barbara (fiancé, Kevin Heyer) Mogck; son, Rick Mogck; four grandchildren, Kristi Bivins, Paul Bivins, Kelly Lopez, and Toby Nihgaat; great granddaughter, Leigha Lopez; and niece, Cathy (Glenn) Otto.
ElRoy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Ova; niece, Denella Ova; and daughter-in-law, Correen Mogck.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
