CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City woman is facing a number of charges after attempting to break into her ex-husbands house.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says 31 year-old Lindsey Thorton was allegedly intoxicated when officers arrived on the scene about 2:39am Sunday morning.

As officers were speaking to Thorton’s ex-husband, Lindsey Thorton entered the residence uninvited. The ex-husband requested officers remove her from the residence.

Police made repeated requests for her to exit, which she refused. Officers then place her under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and attempted to handcuff her.

Thorton resisted by yelling, screaming and kicking at officers, eventually striking one officer. Once secured, she had to be carried into a patrol car. She was also charged with resisting arrest.
