Jorissen, age 72, of Dazey, ND died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at the Eventide Nursing Home at Jamestown, ND.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday Nov. 18, 2014 at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Faust and Rev. Terry Monson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5PM until 7 PM Monday at the funeral home with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.

Inez Irene Jorissen was born Oct. 5, 1942 at Carrington, ND, the daughter of Frank and Cora (Willows) Cooper.  She was raised at Valley City and graduated from high school there in 1960.  In 1961 she was united in marriage to Gary Jorissen from Dazey, ND and the couple made their home near Dazey.

Inez worked for the US Postal Service for 4 ½ years, as well as Smitty’s Carpet Shop, the Jamestown Country Club, Posi-Lock Puller, and Dynamic Marketing in Cooperstown.  She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Dazey where she taught Sunday School, was the church secretary, and held various offices in the ALCW.  She served on the North Central School Board for 4 ½ years and on the Valley City Vocational Center Board for 1 ½ years.  She was a 4-H Leader, Homemakers Club member, and a part owner in Homespun Charm in Valley City.  She did crafts and participated in craft shows for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband Gary, 3 children: Jason (Tammy) Jorissen, Dazey, ND, Jenae (Mike) Aus, Durango, CO and Jodi (Jeremy) Olson, Durango, CO; 8 grandchildren: Mandie (Jonathan) Frazier, Megan and Michael Aus, Guess and Ashley Jorissen, and Jacob, Garrett and Chloe Olson; siblings: Janice Connolly, Buffalo, MN, Mary Ann and James Acker, Ocala, FL, Arthur and Kay Cooper, Burnsville, MN, Eleanor Hoffman in South Carolina, Helen Will, San Diego, CA, and Harriet Brash, Bismarck, ND.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Oliver Cooper, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Kelm and Doris Brash.
