CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Sad news for the Valley City State Athletics Family, on November 4th former basketball standout Cavin Anderson passed away at the age of 64.

Anderson grew up in Watford City where he graduated from high school in 1968. The next year he attended VCSU to play basketball, run cross country and compete on the track and field team. While he excelled on the cross country course and even competed in nationals for the high jump, Anderson found his greatest success on the court. With the Vikings, Anderson was named a two time All-American. After graduating from college he was drafted in 1972 by the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers of the old ABA.
