N.D. (NewsDakota.com) North Dakota officials want applicants for two openings on the state Board of Higher Education. People who want to serve on the board have until December Fifth to apply.
North Dakota state school superintendent Kirsten Baesler is chairwoman of a committee that reviews the applications.
North Dakotans voted last week to keep the Board of Higher Education in charge of North Dakota’s university system. They rejected a measure to replace the board with a full-time, three-member commission.
Baesler says she hopes the vote will make more people interested in being part of the Board of Higher Education.
The screening committee will forward a list of finalists to Gov. Jack Dalrymple. The governor will make the appointments. His choices have to be confirmed by the North Dakota Senate.
