CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Hi-Liners advanced to the Eastern Dakota Conference playoffs on Friday night with a 3-1 (25-11, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21) win over Grand Forks Central at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.

The Hi-Liners were led on the stat sheet by Claire Olson who drove home 15 kills, 17 digs and four aces. Reagan Ingstad led all players with 16 assists in the game. On defense, Charlotte Huschka pulled out 27 digs while at the net Brenna Dieterle blocked four attempted kills from the Knights.

Grand Forks Central’s Steph McWilliams tallied a team high 10 kills in the loss.

On Monday the Hi-Liners will have to travel to Grand Forks Red River for the first round of the EDC playoffs. The playoffs are double elimination format so despite the outcome of that game Valley City will play a second game on Friday at Fargo Shanley High School where the remainder of the tournament will be held.
