N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A rear-end collision occurred at around 10:21 AM yesterday morning 10 miles west of Jamestown on I-94.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 64 year-old Ritchie Jacobson of Gackle, North Dakota was traveling eastbound at roughly 60 miles per hour. 34 year-old Michael Gillespie of Taylor, Michigan was traveling at 75-plus miles per hour when he came upon Jacobson. Jacobson’s vehicle was pushed into the median where he slowed and stopped.

Both airbags deployed on Gillespie’s vehicle, but he continued and failed to stop at the scene. He was stopped by a trooper ten miles later. He was charged for driving without liability insurance and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
