(NewsDakota.com) – Entering 2013, the Jamestown Blue Jay volleyball team had never won a regular season volleyball title. With last night’s 3-0 win (26-24, 25-21, 25-19) over Bismarck High, the Jays claimed a share of their second straight. They won the title outright in 2013 with a perfect record of 16-0, but this year split the title with Bismarck Century who also finished 13-1.

The Patriots and Blue Jays played to five sets in both of their regular season meetings with the road team taking the fifth set. Century will be the No. 1-seed in the WDA tournament, which begins Thursday, via the tiebreaker which is total points scored in the 10-sets they played against each other.

The WDA tournament begins next Thursday in Dickinson. Jamestown as the No. 2-seed will play the host team, Midgets on the opening day at 5pm CT.

Coverage of Thursday’s and Saturday’s matches from Dickinson will be on ESPN Jamestown. Friday’s match will be moved to TED-FM 98.3 due to Dakota Bowl Coverage.
