N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 47 year-old Casselton man was uninjured when he became ill and drifted off the road into a ditch.

Dean Charles was driving East on Highway 13 at around 12:20 PM this afternoon when he began to feel ill. He slowed his truck and continued eastbound until he drifted off of the road into a ditch. Dean drove back up onto the roadway and into the other ditch, coming to rest after striking a group of overhead electric poles.

According to Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative, roughly 200 accounts lost power. Estimated damages are reportedly $10,000 to the truck and $40,000 to the poles and wires.
