N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Police arrested a 65 year-old man on a farmstead near Kensal today just before noon as the responded to an alleged report of a shooting.
At 11:06 AM on Thursday, October 9th, The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a man that stated he had shot two intruders on his property and two more were threatening to invade his home. The James River Valley Response team was on the scene and quickly locked it down.
Upon further inspection, no injured people were found. Shell casings were found at the front door during crews search, but no one else was around. Here’s Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser.
65 year-old James Devillers of Kensal, North Dakota was very compliant and confused when response teams arrived. He was transported to the State Hospital in Jamestown where he will be evaluated and treated. No one was injured in the incident.
As a precaution area schools near Kensal went into a lock down situation. The lock down was later lifted and schools resumed their normal schedules.
