N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner volleyball team found out why Fargo Shanley is currently in first place in the Eastern Dakota Conference as the Deacons swept past visiting Valley City (25-14, 25-19, 25-16) in a two point conference match Thursday night.
The two point loss drops Valley City into sixth place in the EDC with a 5-7 conference record. Valley City still remains 10 games above .500 with a 16-6 overall mark.
Fargo Shanley remains undefeated in EDC play at 11-0. The Deacons are 16-1 overall.
Alivia Fraase led the Deacons in scoring driving home 11 kills in the win. Shanley’s Lauren Sandy dished the ball out for a match high 33 assists.
In the loss, Valley City’s Claire Olson led all players with 13 kills. Samantha Coit had 18 assists. Charlotte Hushka led the Hi-Liners with 12 digs.
Valley City returns to the court next Monday night when they host West Fargo Sheyenne in a two point EDC contest.
