CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City Fire Department is running radio ads on Dakota Country Radio calling for volunteers.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath says it’s hard for some people to make a commitment due to family and job obligations.

The fire station averages two calls per week. Retterath hopes to bring the number of Valley City firefighters to about 40. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer should call the fire station at 845-3351.
