The rate has decreased about 0.3 percent points from July and was slightly lower than a year ago. The national rate in August was 6.3%. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate differs slightly from the not seasonally adjusted rate. The nation saw 6.1 percent and the state saw 2.9 percent for seasonally adjusted unemployment.

In 2013, North Dakota had roughly 10,849 unemployed residents.
