N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 37 year-old Fort Totten man was killed and three children were injured when they struck a moose on Highway 2.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol stated that the car was Westbound on Highway 2 when it struck the animal after 10:00 PM Monday night. The animal was standing in the middle of the highway roughly one mile East of Michigan, North Dakota.
Reports state that the vehicle rolled several times. Everyone was thrown from the vehicle. The children, ages 3, 5, and 10, were hurt in the crash and were all taken to Altru Hospital. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The animal died upon impact and the crash remains under investigation.
