(NewsDakota.com) – For the fourth time in five North Star Athletic Association games the University of Jamestown came out on the right side. On Saturday they welcomed new NSAA (football-only) member Waldorf to Taylor Stadium and piled up over 550 yards of total offense en route to their first win of 2014.
Jamestown was able to get it done through the air before leaving with a 40-20 victory. Beau Eriksson finished the day with 453 yards and three touchdowns.
Waldorf started quickly jumping out to a 7-0 lead quickly following what appeared to be a three-and-out on the opening drive. The Warriors short snapped the football and caught the Jimmies off guard for a 63-yard touchdown.
Jamestown would rattle off 20 straight before the end of the first quarter. Two short touchdown runs by both Chris Johnson and Eriksson, but it was Johnson’s 81-yarder that put Jamestown in front for good.
The Jimmies went into halftime in control with a 34-10 lead and would get a late hook up from Eriksson to Sena to ice the win.
Homecoming is next weekend at Rollie Greeno Field when the Valley City State Vikings come to town. 12:30pm pregame show, 1pm kickoff on ESPN Jamestown.
