CITY (NewsDakota.com)  In AA football on Friday night, Central Dakota met the Falcons of Maple Valley/Enderlin on a neutral site for the second year in a row.  The Falcons and the Titans started a two year agreement to play at Valley City State University’s Shelly Ellig Field last year.  At the time of this story, it is unknown if the two teams will continue with the neutral site agreement for next year.  The Titans won the game 30-6 and improve to 1-1 overall, the Falcons drop to 0-2.

Head Coach Davy Zinke changed things up a bit as offensive and defensive linemen Justin Hanson was brought in as fullback for the Titans, and it payed off.  On their second offensive series in the first quarter, Hanson would help the Titans march down the field and he would score a touchdown after eight plays.  The Falcons came right back in the second quarter as quarterback Jesse Johnson would score on a keeper to tie it at 6.

After running back Nick Muncy left the game with a right knee injury, Senior running back Austin Helland would help complete a score as time was expiring in the first half as he rushed in from nine yards out, the two point conversion was good making it 14-6 Titans.

With just under seven minutes left in the third quarter, Junior quarterback Jayden Grover would connect with Senior wide receiver Cole Deide for a 26 yard touchdown reception.  Helland would rush in for his second touchdown of the game at the start of the fourth quarter to make it 30-6 Titans.

Sophomore running back Seth Horn would come into the game as both Muncy and Helland were injured in the contest.  Muncy did not return, Helland did come back in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Next up for Central Dakota will be the Homecoming game this Friday night in Cooperstown against fellow AA West team Dickinson Trinity, pregame will start at 6:30pm, kickoff at 7pm on the Raven 103.1 FM and newsdakota.com.
