CITY, N.D. (NewsDaktoa.com) The North Star Athlete Association Conference has announced their preseason all-conference team. Seven players from the University of Jamestown made the squad. The Valley City State Vikings had four players represented.
The preseason team was voted on by the league’s coaches. A total of 14 offensive and 13 defensive players were selected.
Mayville State’s Rashad Flanders was the coaches pick for Preseason Player-of-the-Year.
The seven Jamestown players who made the team were: Beau Erikson (quarterback) ,Sean Emry (offensive line), Mike Sena (wide receiver), Gavin Farley (tight end), Garrett Tenney (defensive lineman), Jarelle Miller (linebacker), and Wes Worthen (linebacker).
Representing the Vikings on the preseason all-conference team were: George Trujillo (offensive line), Thomas Kortez (kicker), Zach McBeain (defensive line) and Pathen Asuncion (defensive back).
The Vikings will play the Jimmies on the opening week of the 2014 season Thursday, August 28th at 7:00pm in Valley City. The Vikings broadcast will be on 1490 KOVC. The Jimmies broadcast will be on ESPN AM 1400.
