Logan says the new hotel will have 56 rooms and a pool. He says a few of the rooms will accommodate those who need extended stay rates. Logan says the new GRANDSTAY Hotel & Suites will open in the spring or summer of 2015.
Further south Wade and Dianne Hatcher are renovating the former Peanut Bar near Bjornson Public Golf Course.
Wade Hatcher says the new place will be a supper club serving top of the line steaks and other dishes. It will be called the “Woodland Lodge.” It will have an outdoor deck with a few outdoor patios.
He says a liquor license is pending with the city of Valley City. Hatcher says for golfing enthusiast there will be a golf simulator. The supper club is tentatively set to open in September or October. The owners Wade and Dianne Hatcher also own Wade’s Service Center in Valley City.

And to the west of the Legacy Place across 5th avenue northeast, Owner Paul Diegel plans to build Town Homes. Diegel will install the infrastructure to hook up city water and sewer lines to city standards. The city approved of the Diegel plan during the first reading of an ordinance at their regular meeting on August 5.
O’Reilly Auto Parts is nearing completion west of Stoudt Ross Ford on west main in Valley City.
And construction of the new Faith Lutheran Church will begin on the current site of Smith Lumber along 4th street northeast once the new Smith Lumber Company building is completed on east main.
