CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City man faces felony burglary charges after a woman identified the man breaking into her garage using a hidden trail camera. The woman told police a number of personal clothing items were reported missing over a two month period from her residence.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says officers executed a search warrant at the home of Cory Mertz on August 8. Thompson says officers recovered several personal items reported missing by the victim. Officer also seized computers and other electronic devices during their search.

Thompson says Mertz was arrested without incident on August 8. He faces two counts of felony burglary and a misdemeanor count of stalking.
