N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Senator Heidi Heitkamp continues to battle human trafficking not only in the state, but nationwide.

After a trip to the boarder, Senator Heitkamp stated that children that were waiting determination at the boarder were the ones that could potentially become victims of human trafficking.

Senator Heitkamp stated that they are working on several bills that would provide safe harbor for victims of trafficking so they don’t get charged with prostitution. She also stated that trafficking in our nation makes up roughly 80 percent of all trafficking in our country.
