CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) On a gusty Friday morning 19 teams of golfers met at the Valley City Town and Country Club for the 2014 KOVC Golf Outing. While all teams in attendance played well only one team could take home the championship in the three flights.
Taking home the victory in the Championship Flight was the Carpet Connection team made up of Doug Krall, Sean Krall, Ken Beach and Tyler Marthaler. They finished the course 16 under holding off the team of TJ Hansen (TJ Hansen, Hosh Holm, Matt
Sorensen, and Derick Rogers) and Shane Ost (Shane Ost, Trevor Justesen, Tyler Baukol, and Jake Richels) who completed the course at 13 under.
The Open Flight Championship went to the team Jordan Heck ( Jordan Heck, Aaron Heck, Brandon Heck and Josh Leadbetter) in the tie break over Mike Undem’s team (Mike Undem, Kevin Jacobson, Vern Aase and Charlie Brandenerg). Both teams finished the event 6 under.
At eight under, Be Mobile claimed the Co-Ed/Women’s Flight championship. The team was made up of Kirk Olson, Amber Olson, Rod Nelson, and Luke Richard.
Along with the team championships there were two contest set along the course. The hole-in-one contest offered golfers the chance to win a free car from Miller Motors, and if golfers could sink a 50ft put they had the chance to win a 70 inch television from Appliance City. Unfortunately neither prize was awarded despite a valiant effort from Jack Denholm on the putting green.
