N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The annual Barney Day is set for Saturday, July 19. This small town of 40 people some 20 miles west of Wahpeton has a big spirit when it comes to celebrating.  

Activities begin at 1pm with local vendors setting up along Main Street selling a variety of items.  Vendors are welcome to come and set up.  There is no charge for participating.

The local Hot Rod Car Club will line Main Street with a variety of classic, vintage cars and bikes.  Any car and or motorcycle enthusiasts interested in participating are encouraged to enter their ride in the car show.

The parade will start at 2:30 pm.  The parade entries will line up at the elevator and go up Main Street and turn around and go back down Main Street.  Parade entries are welcome.

Beginning at 3pm, there will be a variety of games for the children of all ages.  Games include minor racing, music chairs and archery.  There will be games and prizes for children of all ages.

And “Dorothy Meets Alice” a play by Joseph Robinette features two of literature’s most unforgettable young ladies who get mixed up in a magical meeting that produces hilarious results as the audience becomes reacquainted with a cast of familiar characters.  Tickets can be purchased the night of the play at the Barney VFW.

The evening will wrap up with music at DJ’s Bar and Grill. Music begins at 9pm.
