(NewsDakota.com) After giving up 13 hits the last time the LaMoure Post 19 American Legion Baseball team played Enderlin Post 221, Post 19 had a better showing Wednesday night at Townsend Field.
Despite a solid start and finish, the middle innings proved to be the deciding factor in Enderlin’s 7-4 victory. Both teams scored a pair of runs in the first before Enderlin added another three in the third and two in the sixth. LaMoure (10-3 Class B Southeast Region) attempted to stage a comeback in the seventh with two runs across, but stranded the tying run at the plate to end the game.
Wyatt Aberle earned the win for Post 221 (12-2) going five innings, allowing five hits while striking out four. Brady Thielges took the loss lasting all seven innings, surrendering 11 hits and striking out six. Anthony Olson had a hit, a RBI and a run scored in the defeat
Post 19 will compete in the Enderlin Wood Bat Tournament this upcoming weekend. The next broadcast of Post 19 ball is set for Monday July 14 when LaMoure plays a non-conference game on the road against Wahpeton. Coverage will start around 5:15 p.m. with first pitch around 5:30 p.m.
