Herman Anderson, 85, of Kathryn ND, died on June 30, 2014 in his home under the care of Hospice surrounded by his family.    Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Tuesday July 8, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kathryn, ND with Rev. Brad Edin officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM.  Burial will take place in St. Paul Cemetery at Kathryn, ND.

Robert was born on August 27, 1928 to Herman and Josephine (Kinservik) Anderson in Litchville, ND.  He attended school at the Kinservik Country School.  He worked for Northern Improvement on road construction projects for 18 years, until moving back to take over the family farm in 1966.  He actively farmed up until 1996, and loved living on the farm.  In 1977, Robert married Bev Hemenway of Clearwater, Nebraska, and they were blessed with 2 children.  He enjoyed working on old tractors and cars, tinkering on anything around the farm, socializing with friends at the local watering holes, and spending time with his family.  In his retirement, he really enjoyed working with his wife at Clausen Springs and Little Yellowstone Parks for the last 10 years of his life.

Robert is survived by his wife, Bev; children, Bob “B.J.” (Misty) Anderson, Valley City, ND; Blaine (Whitney) Anderson, Mapleton, ND; nephew, Rolland (Deb) Anderson, Glenwood, MN; niece, Debbie (Bob) Danelz, Morris, MN.  He enjoyed his four grandchildren: Autumn, Austin, Hayden, and Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Eugene and wife Dorothy Anderson; sister Viola and husband Russell Salverson; nephews Donny and Lonny Anderson.
