N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 4th of July celebrations have kicked off locally and the Jamestown ordinance allowing fireworks shooting off in city limits has some residents upset.

Valley News Live’s Whistleblower Hotline received a call from a resident of the community, calling the ordinance in Jamestown “ridiculous.” The ordinance for Jamestown allows fireworks to be shot off in city limits from June 27th to July 5th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. On July 4th, fireworks will be allowed until 1:00 AM.

City Council members are split on the ordinance. Councilman Dan Buchanan has been for changing the ordinance, but other members believe it’s just fine. In order for the ordinance to change, a petition will have to be written up so it can be discussed among the council.
